With a Roth IRA, (for years 2008 through 2010) like the traditional IRA, your earnings build tax-free as long as they remain in your Roth account. In addition, you won’t pay federal income taxes or penalties on withdrawals from your Roth IRA after age 59 1/2. You can make contributions up to $5000 per year, however, the deposits are not tax deductible. Income limits and other IRS restrictions may apply.
